The SF Maritime National Historic Park is a collection of historic sailing vessels and museum areas spread around Hyde Street Pier. This is a fascinating place to wander and learn, but their education programs are excellent. Check out this site to learn more. For families and individuals, there are also a variety of events listed here.
*The SF Maritime National Historic Park can be visited as a self guided tour for individuals or families but there are also many cool field trips for school groups.
*Some areas are free to explore but others (the ships mainly) have an admission fee for those over 15. *There is plenty of space to run around, eat lunch, and use restroom facilities. *Although located in the quieter end of Pier 39 area, parking can be tricky. MUNI headed down Van Ness is a good option. |
